Moving home, and a little freebie

Hi guys!
Well, the big day is tomorrow! We are finally moving! Woohoo!
We are no where near almost finished packing. I made myself a couple of cute keyrings
 (F- Front: B-Back)

A mug cozy, not really much of a tutorial for this, i added the (rather wonky) embroidery, cut it to the size of the mug and added backing and a button :)

Starting to get my artistic mojo back, i sketched this funky little thing, which shall be filled in and framed (eventually)

Did you know that hat boxes are the perfect size for all those jars that you don't really need?
(But stash anyway, because, well you never know!)

A little freebie here, you can download and have it as a screen saver, or print and frame? i don't know, but whatever you do with it, if you share it, PLEASE link back to me!

Do you wanna make a mug cake?

This.
The best quick fix invention ever! I know it's not traditional baking, but i've had to compromise as we had to sell the cooker for a bit of extra money for when we move.
As long as you have all of the basic ingredients, and a microwave, you shall never be far away from this yummy, self-indulgent little snack.

What you'll need:

A large mug
2tbsp - self raising flour
2tbsp- caster sugar (or granulated)
1 egg
1tbsp butter (or vegetable oil)
2-3 tbsp of milk
any filling/flavouring you fancy, such as 1tbsp cocoa powder, chocolate chips etc.

What you'll do:

Add your butter to the mug, zap in the microwave for 10 seconds to melt the butter, (you don't need to do this if using oil) add the sugar and whisk until pale and fluffy.
Add the rest of your dry ingredients and mix again until combined.

Add your egg and milk

Whisk until smooth and creamy (not what it looks like below, i know, but i hadn't finished!)

Pop in the microwave and zap for 3-4 minutes until risen and firm to the touch. stick a knife in the centre and if it comes out clean it is ready.

Put the kettle on and make tea/ coffee in your favourite mug.

When your cake is done turn out onto a plate (or if you like you can eat it straight out of the mug!)
I drizzled some chocolate icing and some pieces of toffee on mine! Yum!

Enjoy!

Fun With Faux Fur

Afternoon guys :)
What fun i've had over the past few days!
I found the most gorgeous Faux Fur in a local charity shop for 50p! There was at least a metre's worth of fabric, so it was a bargain! I made myself a lovely hat, and matching cuffs for my coat, a pair of slippers and a phone case (will put a pic up of the case as soon as i get some decent light)
Now i haven't made a tutorial for these as i kind of winged it, but Violet Lebeaux has a fantastic tutorial for the cuffs -here, and you can find any number of tutorials on Pinterest for making the hat.

I also made myself some pajamas, the pants were from an old (barely used) double bed sheet, but they are a little tight, so might make some more when i find a stretchier fabric.  The top was an old nightdress taken up and hemmed to fit, and the slippers were also made from the faux fur, so cosy!

Our Grand Day Out and Moving House

Hi guys!

Sorry it has been a while, i have been busy and everything caught up with me all at once!

You may have noticed the new layout (again, i know, but it was hard to find a design i really liked) i love this one, it is bright, airy, and simple.

I have fantastic news! We are moving! Woohoo! The Bearded Wonder (my hubby) and i are finally breaking free of this god-awful, crumbling pit which is (laughingly) referred to as a house.
The new place is in the North East of England, and it is perfect! Okay, so we haven't seen much of it yet as when we went to view and sign the papers on Friday the housing officer had another appointment so we rushed through, signed up, and that was it! But if it is still standing and there is no damp then that's good enough for me!

It was also worth it for the views on the way!

Me and The Bearded Wonder, before we went home again.
I don't normally look so miserable, its just the angle! haha :)

Fingers crossed that it will be sooner rather than later, i'm off to start the huge task of packing my books... see you in about 5 hours!

*EDIT-Attempting to pack my books...i need another suitcase...this one is full, bearing in mind that all in all it stacks about 6 or 7 down and i still need another one! These are only the ones i really want to take!

Quilt, cushion and shawl

I ordered a few (hundred) fabric samples to make a new blanket, but i couldn't decide which one i wanted, so i plonked them all together and made a small quilt and cushion for the couch

I'm not the best seamstress yet, so this went a little wonky!haha :)

smile emoticon i also made another shawl this time in a lovely mellow yellow for the spring
